This page explains how to request deletion of personal data YAAP holds about you when you message a business that operates on the YAAP commerce platform over WhatsApp.
How to request deletion
- Send an email to admin@yaap.bot from any address you control.
- Include the WhatsApp phone number you used to message the business (in international format, e.g.
+57 300 123 4567). - Include the business (Merchant) name you contacted, if you remember it.
- State clearly that you want your personal data deleted.
We may ask you to confirm the request from the WhatsApp number itself before we proceed, to make sure we don't delete the wrong account.
What gets deleted
- Your WhatsApp phone number and profile name as stored by us.
- Your conversation history with the Merchant.
- Your shopping cart, browsing history, and address(es) you shared.
What we may need to keep
Some records cannot be deleted on request because we are legally required to keep them — for example:
- Records of completed orders and invoices, retained for tax and commercial-law purposes (typically 5 years in Colombia and Mexico).
- Anti-fraud and abuse logs, retained for the period necessary for our legitimate interest in operating the Service securely.
Where we keep records by legal obligation, we minimize them and stop using them for any other purpose.
How long it takes
We respond within 15 business days and complete the deletion within 30 days of confirming your identity.
